Oct. 17, 2012–The Kleenex Box Principle

Kleenex BoxThe Lord taught me the value of the Kleenex Box Principle a few years ago while I was prophesying over one of our newest testers, Belicia Catherine Davila, at a meeting in Picton, Ontario, Canada.
Although I was used to delivering destiny words to others in one-on-one or small group settings, I found myself being stretched as she and her brother responded to my invitation to the teens in the congregation to come forward and receive a word from the Lord. (Thank you, Marilyn Reimers, for introducing me by saying: And now Pastor Jeeva will call some of you forward and prophesy over you…lol!)

As I silently waited for the Holy Spirit to give me a word for Belicia, the only thing I got was the picture of a water lily. So I began by releasing that picture to her. The moment I did that, the Lord showed me that although most people only saw her external beauty, she actually had deep roots that were invisible and that the environment (church and home) in which she had been planted played a huge part in her growth. When I released that revelation, then I saw a picture of her in a lab coat and the Lord started showing me how she would be involved in research in the medical field, etc. It turned out to be a powerful confirmation of the Father’s Love for Belicia.

For me, it was like removing facial tissues from a Kleenex Box one at a time. Once you took the top one out, then the next one popped out. And when you took that one out, along came the next one and so on and so forth.
As much as we would like the Lord to give us all the details in one shot, He often chooses to reveal our destiny one picture, one word, one revelation at a time. It could be because we could not handle it if He revealed it all to us in one fell swoop. It could be because He wants to see what we would do with the one thing He does give us and when He sees our obedience, He gives us the next piece of the puzzle. Can you think of any other reason why this is often the case?

The DWOD for Oct. 16 is simply this: Remember the Kleenex Box Principle. Begin with what the Lord gives you and watch as He honours your obedience by revealing more and more until you get the whole picture!

Oct. 16, 2012–Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses…

On Sept. 2, 2012, Sulojana and I were at Yankee Stadium in New York for the very first time, watching a game between the Yankees and the Orioles along with our sons. For the record, we were in Section 202, Row 14, seats 32-35.

As the first inning began, we heard an unfamiliar chant erupt from the section next to us. Not the usual “Go Yankees, Go!” that one would expect. We soon deciphered the chant and discovered that the fans were calling out “Dickerson, Dickerson”. Chris Dickerson, the center fielder that day, turned toward the chanting fans, promptly took off his cap and bowed slightly, acknowledging their cheer. They then called out “Ichiro, Ichiro” and waited for Ichiro Suzuki, the left fielder to respond, which he did with his patented smile. They moved on to Raul Ibanez, the right fielder and then on to every one of the infielders except the pitcher and the catcher. It was quite obvious that every player relished their name being called out.
Later on, I would learn that we were witnessing a Yankee Stadium tradition. These are the famous (notorious?) Bleacher Creatures who occupy a block of seats in Section 203 and go through this “Roll Call” at every home game.

It reminded me of Hebrews 12:1 which begins with the words: “Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses…let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us…”

Friends, the Lord wants us to remember that as we run towards our destiny, we are not alone.
The Father watches over us.
Jesus runs ahead of us (that is why v. 2 says that we run “fixing our eyes” on him. The Holy Spirit is within us.
And, if that wasn’t enough, we have this “cloud of witnesses”–here on earth and in heaven–cheering us on, calling out our name…Wow! I get goosebumps just thinking about it. That is why we are able to run “with perseverance”, with that “Never Give Up” attitude. Amen?

So, here is the DWOD for Oct. 16: “Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, we will never surrender to our circumstances.”

Oct. 15, 2012–The Thanksgiving Journal

For quite some time now, the Lord has been impressing upon my spirit the incredible value of thanksgiving. One of the leaders in our church, Marilyn Williams, has been keeping a daily Thanksgiving Journal for the past seven years. It all began with a decision to write down every night a few lines about all that she was thankful for that day.

As we continue on this journey to our destiny, there will be times when we could be tempted to give in to discouragement. There will come days when it would appear that there are no reasons to be thankful. Enter the Thanksgiving Journal to the rescue! As we look back on all the entries from previous days/months/years, we will be overwhelmed by the goodness of God and our hearts will overflow with gratitude. Discouragement will not have a chance to set in…praise God!

May I encourage you to start keeping track of your reasons for thankfulness on a daily basis– beginning today? The Lord told me that when we do this consistently every day for 40 days, we will have developed a life-long habit. We will get to a point where going to bed without making these journal entries would seem unnatural 🙂

So, here is the Destiny Word of the Day for Oct. 15. Start a Thanksgiving Journal (if you do not have one already). Keep at it on a daily basis, if you already have one going.

Oct. 13–To get to the Place where God wants you to be…

Jeeva Profile Pic from Love Dare“To get to the place where God wants you to be, you must go through the place where God needs you to be.”

That’s what I heard the Lord say last night.
I am sensing that most of us are in the “place where God needs us to be” right now. For Joseph it was the prison, for David the hills, for Jesus it was the wilderness, for Paul it was Arabia, for John it was the island of Patmos.
Rather than be in a big hurry to get out of where we are simply because it is not comfortable, could we see this as a time when the Holy Spirit can work on us and prepare our hearts for taking us to “where God wants us to be?”

Oct. 10, 2012–You Have a Destiny

Jeeva and Sulojana SamToday I am led to release into your life these well-known words from Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

This simple yet profound revelation is at the heart of all that you will receive from either me or Darren on a daily basis. YOU HAVE A GOD-GIVEN DESTINY.

You may still be waiting to discover what it is, you may be vaguely aware of it, you may be absolutely sure of it, you may be taking baby steps or making giant strides towards it, or you may have already stepped into it.

No matter where you may be right now, you can say as Jake Hamilton sings in THE ANTHEM: (at the 3:45 mark of this video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oj7HgCBAR6U

I am royalty, I have destiny,

I have been set free, I’m gonna shake history;

I’m gonna change the world!

Just keep singing along a few times, and let those words sink into your spirit until it starts to soar. Because it is true. YOU HAVE A GOD-GIVEN DESTINY.
